A polling unit outside the Oba Elegushi Palace at Ikate in Eti-Osa, Lekki, has been attacked by thugs.
The hoodlums reportedly attacked the area on Saturday afternoon carting away ballot boxes and chasing the presiding officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
β The ballot boxes were snatched and everybody ran away. Thugs are still hanging around the area.β a resident said.
Kilamity.com also reported that Operatives of the Nigerian Army on Saturday gunned down an unknown ballot thief in Ogege road, Odaba polling unit in Dekina ward, in Kogi, following the activities of political thugs who came in large numbers to destroy voting materials.
The thugs who appeared with machetes and guns snatched ballot boxes, broke chairs and dispersed voters.
