Arsenal approach this game from 10th place in the Premier League standings. The Gunners have 38 points won so far, which puts them just two points behind the 9th Aston Villa. Against Spurs, Arsenal will look for their 12th win since the beginning of the 2020/21 campaign.

In the previous round, Mikel Arteta’s team only won a point during its visit to Burnley at the Turf Moor. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored an early opener for Arsenal, but Burnley’s Chris Wood equalized just 6 minutes before the halftime break.

Indeed this is not what Arsenal hoped for when the season started. They won the FA Cup at the end of the previous campaign, so some fans even hoped for a return to the Top 4. But clearly, Arteta’s team is not ready for such a challenge.

Against Burnley, Arteta chose to leave Alexandre Lacazette on the bench, putting Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the top of the attack. Martin Odegaard started behind the striker while Bakayo Saka and Willian were put on the wings. Partey and Xhaka acted like a duo in the central midfield. Against Tottenham, Arteta has to decide if he wants to put players like Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe, and Dani Ceballos in the starting eleven.
