Chelsea vs Liverpool’s match started with full attacking forces. Two great blocks from Fofana, the latter to deny Fabinho from a Liverpool corner. The Brazilian collected a second ball and volleyed at goal, but Fofana stood tall and deflected the ball away with his head.

Brave defending. Kepa also makes a good save from a fierce Gomez drive. Liverpool pushing for the opener here, Chelsea need the whistle. Liverpool continue to offer next to nothing going forward, the travelling Reds supports burst into a ‘Mo Salah chant’. He’ll be coming on sooner rather than later at this rate. It’s not been good enough from the Reds so far even if Chelsea at the Bridge isn’t the fairest of tests for a much changed team.

There’s a water break in front of me as I type and Jurgen Klopp is dishing up some instructions to his two centre-backs during the break in play. Reece James has just leathered one into the bottom corner but the flag was up early for offside, which was checked. Enzo Fernandez was off.

Havertz, Kanté and James combine brilliantly down Chelsea’s right, with the latter curling a low cross to the six-yard box.

Matip slips and Félix has an opportunity to stab a finish home, but the Portuguese forward can’t sort his feet out and he misses it entirely. A poor finish to a great move! Bit sloppy that from Alisson, who taking a backpass from Tsimikas hesitates on the ball a little too long before his clearance takes a deflection off the charging down Havertz.

That wasn’t too far away from his error against Real Madrid in the Champions League at Anfield recently. Wasted from Fabinho as the space opens up to play in Nunez. He tries a through ball rather than a pass to feet and gets it wrong under pressure from Kante, who is obviously having a really good game given it’s against Liverpool…
