Kunle Afolayan expresses joy as he bags 5 awards at 2023 AMVCA, teases Anikulapo sequel

Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan has expressed joy after bagging 5 awards at the just concluded AMVCA.

Taking to his Instagram page, the ‘Citation’ movie producer expressed gratitude to his creator for the 5 awards he won at the event.

He also congratulated his teammate, Netflix for the partnership and Africa Magic for the recognition.

The actor didn’t fail to appreciate his fans, mother, and well-wishers.

To top it off, Kunle Afolayan revealed that he is currently working on Anikulapo’s sequel, ‘Rise of the Spectre’.

Netflix wants me to produce ‘Anikulapo’ series – Kunle Afolayan claims

Kilamity reported that Kunle Afolayan revealed that well-known streaming service Netflix, is pressuring him to turn his most recent hit film, Anikulapo, into a television series.

He claimed that Netflix urged him to first make a movie, and if it was successful, a series would be created, despite his initial desire to turn the film into a television show.

This was stated by Afolayan in an interview with the Guardian UK that was published on Friday.

The filmmaker said, “I’ve been working on Aníkúlápó for six years. Originally, I wanted to make a series, but I shopped it and kept telling people that this movie would be bigger than Game of Thrones.
