Poco Lee, real name, Iweh Pascal Odinaka is one of the most popular dancers in Nigeria. He went from being a street dancer to emerging one of the most famous dancer across the African continent.

His rise to fame is one of the success stories of the internet generation, he became a sensation after he trended on Instagram with a dance video on one of Zlatan Ibile’s songs.

With his skillful legwork and Zanku moves, he has also become a household name for most Gen Z Nigerians and young influencers across the continent.

Since his breakout year featuring in the popular eclectic Zanku Legwork video, Poco Lee has shared the stage with A-list superstar singers and performers like Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Reekado Banks, Zlatan Ibile, Naira Marley, and Niniola among others.

Poco Lee is also associated with Burna Boy, Gucci Branch, Zlatan Ibile, Olamide, Naira Marley, Rahman Jago, Zanku Records, Marlian Records, DMW, and a long list of A-listers who often feature him in their songs.

How it started for Poco Lee

His biggest breakthrough hit the internet when he posted a video of him dancing to popular trending moves Zanku and Legwork in an event, hosted at Lagos State University (LASU) which got him a Tunde Ednut repost on Instagram. Immediately the one-minute clip escalated online and was seen on several celebrities’ pages, which caught the attention of the dance originator Zlatan Ibile who immediately linked up with him and employed his service in the video of the song Zanku.

Immediately after his viral dance, he was seen in several top celebrities’ videos dancing.

Family

Poco Lee who grew up with his sister in Lagos – He is the third child out of five children of Mr. Kenneth Iweh and Mrs. Augustina Iweh, his parents.

He was born on 21st October 1996.

Education

Poco grew up in Ojo in Lagos where he attended Nigerian Navy Primary School, Okokomaiko in Ojo, during his primary school days.

His secondary school education was at Command Day Secondary School, Ojo Barracks in Lagos State.

He holds a Bachelor Of Arts Degree from Lagos State University (LASU)

  • In a recent interview with Potpourri, Poco Lee revealed he got the name back in his junior secondary school days. “It was during musical class. There is an Italian term in music called Poco a Poco which means little by little. So, I was actually the smallest in the class then so they started calling me Poco. I added “Lee” to spice it up and since then It’s “Poco Lee” from everyone,” he recalled.
  • In 2021, Poco Lee broke down to tears as WizKid brought his friend Bella Shmurda to London to perform at 02 Arena.
