They were one of the title challengers for most of the season, but an abysmal spell in December paired up with some losses along the way means that Atleti will need some massive wins to end the year in the top four. Real Madrid, on the other hand, enters this game as possibly the team with the most confidence in the world.
They secured the title last Saturday and eliminated Manchester City with two late goals by Rodrygo and an extra-time penalty by Karim Benzema. Now, they have a chance to land a massive blow on their crosstown rivalsβ hopes to play in the Champions League next season.
