Barcelona vs Cádiz (La Liga 2023-24)

After failing to get past Getafe in their opening fixture, Barcelona return to La Liga action with a home clash against Cadiz. The Catalans will be keen to get things up and running in front of their fans and should maintain their fine record in this fixture.

Barcelona made an inauspicious start to the season as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Cadiz in their opening fixture. They played most of the game with 10 men after Raphinha was sent off and despite dominating the possession, lacked the cutting edge in attack.

While manager Xavi will be disappointed not to turn all that possession into goals, a point on the road against a traditionally tricky Getafe could be vital. However, with rivals Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid both winning on the opening weekend, Barcelona will be keen to avoid being left behind.

The good news for Barcelona is that they are returning to Camp Nou which served as a fortress last season and the place for most of their clean sheets. They have won four of their last five home matches, keeping clean sheets in all four wins.
