PARIS ST GERMAIN stand on the brink of another failed Champions League campaign unless they can go to Germany and stun Bayern Munich on Kilamity.
Year after year, PSG have fallen agonisingly short in all manner of different ways. But whatever excuses you use or whatever way you dress it up, for a team with their off-the-scale financial backing and a superstar attacking line-up, it’s a scandal they have yet to lift the trophy.
To do so this year and break the hex, they have to travel to Bavaria and overturn a 1-0 first leg deficit in Paris against the Champions League royalty of Bayern Munich.
Since that defeat, PSG have got back on track after a very sticky spell with high-scoring home wins over Lille and Nantes and an impressive, classy 3-0 win at the Stade Velodrome against Ligue 1 challengers Marseille.
