Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have crashed out of the 2023 FIFA World Cup after a 0-1 loss to the Asian side, South Korea.
The Flying Eagles were unable to score during the entire first 120 minutes of the match.
Following a goalless regulation time, Korea secured the victory with a decisive goal in the 95th minute by C. Seok-Hyun.
Next, they will face Italy in the semi-finals of the competition.
Coach Ladan Bosso’s team displayed dominance throughout the game, particularly in the first half and towards the end. They earned five corners during that time.
One of Nigeria’s early attempts came from Victor Eletu, the star player from AC Milan. However, Kim Joonhong made a remarkable save, deflecting his shot for a corner kick.
As the match progressed, the Flying Eagles persisted in their pursuit of a goal while the South Koreans adopted a defensive approach. The first half concluded without either team managing to score.
When the second half commenced, Coach Bosso made some substitutions, introducing fresh players as the 2005 runners-up fought to find a breakthrough.
