BREAKING: Victor Osimhen makes 2023 CAF Awards shortlist for African Player of the Year (Full List)

Super Eagles and Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen, has been shortlisted for the 2023 CAF African Player of the Year award.

The 24-year-old was a key figure in Napoli’s Serie A triumph last season, when the club won the title for the first time in 33 years.

Osimhen also won the Golden Boot after scoring 26 goals and becoming the league’s leading scorer from Africa. In addition, he was named the league’s best striker.

Osimhen finished eighth on the men’s list at the 2023 Ballon d’Or award ceremony on Monday, becoming the highest-ranked Nigerian player ever.

Sadio Mane, the current holder, and Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool forward, are also on the list.

The Awards Gala will be held in Marrakech, Morocco, on December 11, 2023.
