Araujo was dashing onto the ball down the left but on the edge of the area, Davinson Sanchez attempted an audacious and ultimately expert slide tackle, scooping the ball away. A couple of yards further and it would have been a penalty, but Sanchez is the hero for that.
Solomon did well to bring the ball down in a packed area and squeezed it past Lewandowski to work some space, but he hit a shot wide. He had little time to compose himself and was off balance so no fingers pointed for that miss. Manor Solomon just found himself 1-on-1 with ter Stegen, albeit under pressure from Garcia, but fired straight at the goalie.

By no means are Spurs dominating this match but they have managed to nullify the early potency of their Spanish aggressors. The ball has been played around mostly in midfield in recent minutes but for Solomon’s break on the through ball. Barcelona have controlled the opening stages, retaining the ball calmly.
Alejandro Balde is having joywith his surges down the left and it looks as if Pedro Porro will have his hands full tonight trying to deal with the left-back and Gavi. Gavi heads wide from a few yards out. Raphinha had put in a good spinning cross and if Gavi hadn’t headed it, Oriol Romeu would have. Spurs could have defended better there – nobody was out to Raphinha quick enough.
