Lionel Messi has revealed, during his press conference on Wednesday, August 11th,2021, that his reason for joining PSG is to win another UEFA Champions League.
He also promised to give in best in helping his new club win the competition.
Well, I think the team is ready, and there are some new transfers. There have been very close to winning the Champions League already.
I have just come here to help. I will try to do my best with my inclusion. My goal is to win the trophy. And i think that PSG is the best place to win it again.
Messi signed a 2-year contract with the French Club. The contract is expected to run until June 2024 with an option to extend.
The Champions League is a trophy that the PSG board of directors and fans are desperate to win. They were close to winning it in the past two seasons, but they have failed to get their hand on the trophy.
PSG lost the UEFA Champions League 2019/20season final to Bayern Munich, they also lost the 2021/21 semi-final to Manchester City.
