A Nigerian lady has stirred controversies online as she digs out an old tweet of Davido begging Burnaboy for a DM few hours after the former called the latter a “New Cat” in the music space.
It would be recalled that Davido during a latest interview made a comment that he and Wizkid took Afrobeats to the global level.
He added that Grammy Award Winner Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu professionally known as Burnaboy is a new cat and he is in the same category as Rema, Wizkid, Asake, Fireboy and others.
However, a Nigerian lady identified as Ediyie of London on Twitter gets social media abuzz as she shares a throwback tweet of Davido in 2011 begging Burnaboy for just a DM (direct message) and that was just the beginning.
After asking for his pin, Davido also tells Burnaboy that he is a big fan in the old tweet.
Davido tweeted; “@burnaboylive dm ur pin…im a big fan g.”
Ediyie of London quoted the tweet and replies “Man was begging Burna back in 2011 for just a DM and saying he was a fan, today he’s a new cat cause he’s bigger than you. Bitterness is a disease.”

lanreyforever: I don’t even know why people misunderstood the interview. David was just trying to say Himself and Wiz were the first to make Afro beats big. After them came Burna and the likes. He didn’t say Burna is an upcoming artiste or Burna is small. Burna big hit came in 2018. Burna has been in the industry for long and he is a concussion of talent. But his big hit came later after David and Wiz had already put afrobeats on the world map. Wetin Burna music dey do now, David and Wiz music don dey do am years ago.

obidientmode: First of all this person misunderstood the interview, Davido didn’t call Burna boy upcoming, he actually meant that him and Wizkid are the first set of artist to put Afro beat on the map before cams Burna boy and the rest which is true, Burna has been in the industry for long but his hit was around 2018 or so while Davido and Wizkid has been there, secondly for someone to be your fan doesn’t mean you’re bigger than that person, Drake can be a fan of Davido that doesn’t mean Davido is bigger than Drake but because Davido might be doing his best at that moment, being someone’s fan is a sign of support not the other way round.
manarisia_1: I have seen big Musicians reach out to the lesser artists for collaboration especially when you’re doing well. Let’s be real for once David and Wizzy were the only two young artists back then and they inspired many to join music . Calling them Cats doesn’t mean he’s looking down on anyone it’s a slang and you all should rest.
