Paris Saint-Germain will get their defence of the Champions League trophy up and running with a home game against Atalanta on Wednesday night. The French giants finally conquered the continent last season, producing a five-star showing in the final with a 5-0 thrashing of Inter Milan.
As for Atalanta, they will head to the French capital fresh from picking up their first Serie A win of the season on Sunday, making light work of Lecce with a 4-1 victory. The Bergamo-based club managed to navigate their way out of the new-look league phase during last season’s Champions League before being put to the sword by Club Brugge in the play-off round.
