Superstar Afroebeats singer David Adeleke professionally known as Davido has broken his silence amidst a report of being arrested in Kenya over drugs.
Over the weekend, Davido, the “Timeless” superstar made headlines as he effortlessly shutdown shows in Uganda and Kenya.
However, on April 1st 2024, a report trends online disclosing that Davido was detained at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) after his Kenya tour.
Fresh details emerged suggesting Davido’s detention was possibly related to a report received by the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) regarding substance abuse at an event Davido attended.
Taking to the insta-stories section of his verified Instagram page today, April 2nd 2024, Davido debunks claims that he was recently arrested in Kenya.
Davido stated that he has never been arrested before in his life anywhere in the world stressing that he is now back in Nigeria at the moment.
Setting the record straight, Davido said that he found the fabricated allegation of him being arrested as extremely irresponsible regardless of the light of “April Fool.”
Davido wrote;
“SETTING RECORD STRAIGHT ON FALSE ARREST REPORTS
Fam, it has come to my attention that false reports regarding an arrest circulated online on April 1st, which has since led to a barrage of calls. I want to assure my fans that these re- ports are entirely untrue. I successfully completed my scheduled shows in Uganda and Kenya and have since re- turned home to Nigeria.
I’d also like to note that I have never been arrested by anyone in any country for any crime in the world. Not my home Nigeria, my home America, or any of the hundreds of countries I’ve made home throughout my career.

I find the fabrication of allegations of such international crimes extremely irresponsible regardless of the light of ‘April Fools’, and my lawyer is seeking legal recourse against the media parties responsible for generating this misinfor- mation.
