Tinubu opens up after performing another lesser Hajj in Saudi Arabia, says Nigeria needs more prayers to be great (Video)

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has opened up after performing another Lesser Hajj (Umrah) in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

The president had embarked on the Islamic rite after the completion of his official duties in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, where he participated in the Saudi-African Summit.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday after the rites, Tinubu said that there is a need to thank God for guidance, blessings, answers to prayers and for the good of all humanity at every opportunity.

He said: “That’s why we are here, and May Allah accept all our prayers, individually and collectively, for the good of the nation and its people. There is a need for me to thank God for what He has done for me.

‘’For His guidance, blessings and answers to my prayers and the country’s prayers and for the good of all humanity. I have to give thanks to God at every opportunity.”

The President also said his administration was determined to change the narrative through various reforms, programmes and policies that would ultimately benefit the citizens.

He added: “The prospect of the country is yet to blossom to the level that we require. It needs hard work and consistent prayers by each and every one of us. We are committed to using our strength to bring out this potential for the benefit of all Nigerians.”

The President performed the lesser hajj alongside Governor Bala Mohmmed of Bauchi State, Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger State and Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State.

Also, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu,; NNPCL Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, and other top government officials performed the ritual alongside the president.

During his stay at Makkah, Tinubu is being hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and attached with a special cleric from the King’s palace to conduct his round for the circumambulation of the Kaaba.
