Chelsea FC easily thrashed Tottenham at White Hart Lane with 3 goals to nothing scored by Thiago Silva, Ngolo Kante and Rüdiger.
It’ll be N’Golo Kante’s goal but Hugo Lloris is helpless! Kante drags his shot from distance straight into Eric Dier’s shin, cannoning off of it for the corner. It takes a healthy chunk of Lloris’ left-hand post but trickles agonisingly across goal a half-yard or so beyond the white line. A buoyant Chelsea have two and Spurs are reeling.
It must also be said that Chelsea’s half-time change appears to have really worked. The extra midfield body means Tottenham are more reluctant to push their players forward for fear of a quick transition. N’Golo Kante has buzzed about in trademark disruptive fashion.
The action has been virtually entirely one way since the players returned from their half-time oranges.
James Robson on Chelsea’s quick second-half strike: “That is quite the response from Chelsea. This was the first time since Thomas Tuchel took charge that they failed to register a single shot on target in the first half of a Premier League game.
“Immediately from the restart Hugo Lloris was called into action to deny Marcos Alonso and then Thiago Silva heads the visitors in front.”
