The match between Inter Milan & Benfica started with full attacking forces. Inter have looked so solid but suddenly they’re all over the place. Benfica work the ball down the right with ease and Silva crosses for Fredrik Aursnes to turn a fine header into the top corner. A goal out of nothing. Martinez has the ball in the net but it won’t count!
Dzeko floats a ball to the back post where Martinez gives his marker a shove in the back before taking the ball down and finishing. He wheels off in celebration but the referee saw the push. Ramos has offered very little up front so far. This team is crying up for a striker like they had in Darwin Nunez.
A couple of corner for Inter but they come to nothing. No goal threat for either side outside that goal. Some space open up for Ramos in the Inter half but he gets his attempted through ball to Mario all wrong.

Dzeko fights for a long ball and helps bring it down for Martinez, who lays it off for Barella on the right hand side of the box. He shapes to shoot with his right before cutting back on to his left and finding the top left corner. Sublime. Benfica are passing the ball nicely enough but they look a little short of ideas in the final third so far. Inter happy to wait and hit on the counter.
Inter have come to life. They’re asking real questions of the back line when they get the ball. Inter break and they’ve got a three on two situation with Martinez driving down the middle with the ball. There’s a simple ball to lay off to Dzeko on the right but he then fizzes it the other side to Dimarco, who isn’t expecting it and fails to control.
