The most dramatic SPFL Premiership title race we’ve ever seen comes to a fitting conclusion as leaders Hearts of Midlothian battle CelticCeltic in Glasgow for the crown. The Jambos battered Falkirk 3-0 at Tynecastle on Wednesday night and it looked like that would take them a massive step closer to glory as the Hoops were being held by Motherwell. Had the Steelmen held on for a draw, Celtic would have needed a 3-0 win over the leaders on the final day to hang on to their crown.
But a hugely controversial VAR penalty decision deep into stoppage-time handed Martin O’Neill’s men a 3-2 victory in a game where two bets landed for me. That made it six SPFL Premiership wins in a row for Celtic and if they can make it seven on the final day it will secure a fifth successive championship.
