Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal ended in a hard-fought 1-0 win for the defending champions Arsenal, who moved back up to second in the Premier League, three points behind Manchester City. Mikel Arteta’s side dominated possession with 74% but failed to register a single shot on target in the first half, as Eberechi Eze was hooked at halftime for Noni Madueke after a quiet display.
The breakthrough finally came in the 80th minute when Madueke beat Daniel Munoz with a stepover before his right-footed shot deflected off Jair Cunha and wrong-footed goalkeeper Matz Sels. It was Madueke’s fourth goal for Arsenal, all scored away from home. Forest almost equalized late on, but Murillo fired over and Ezri Konsa produced a last-ditch block to deny Liam Delap in stoppage time, as Arsenal held on for their 18th one-goal win in the last two seasons – the most in Europe’s top five leagues.
