ARSENAL face a tough challenge in maintaining their 100% start in the league phase of the Champions League on Wednesday night as they travel to Bavaria to take on Bayern Munich. Arsenal moved back within three points of Premier League leaders Manchester City on Sunday afternoon as they ground out a 0-1 victory at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest. Noni Maduekeβs deflected strike in the 80th minute secured a 0-1 success β and helped land a couple of winners for me.
Five days earlier, the Gunners backed up their 0-1 win over Napoli in Naples on MD1 of the league phase of the Champions League with a 3-0 home win over Lille. Bayern, on the other hand, failed to make it two wins from two in the Champions League last midweek, as they conceded late on in Stavanger to draw 3-3 with reigning Norwegian champions Viking. However, Vincent Kompanyβs men bounced back from that disappointment on Saturday as they thrashed RB Leipzig 6-1, moving them to the top of the Bundesliga table for the first time this season.
