Aston Villa host Manchester City at Villa Park on Saturday with kick-off at 12:30pm UK time. Enzo Maresca’s side arrive with a perfect away record in the Premier League, although recent visits to Birmingham have proved difficult. Villa have won the last three league meetings between the clubs at Villa Park, making this an intriguing test of City’s impressive travelling form.
Their recent 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town offered another reminder of their attacking potential, with City generating 3.18 xG from 19 shots. They followed that performance by beating AEK Athens 5-1 in the Champions League, despite resting Erling Haaland. Maintaining that scoring threat while rotating players is encouraging during a demanding schedule.
