
There aren’t many teams capable of stopping Bayern Munich in their current form, especially on a day when the Bavarians are playing their own game, but Bodo/Glimt – the darlings of every neutral football fan – have proved that it takes something special to beat them.
Bayern Munich took their first misstep in the Bundesliga and, although they didn’t lose to Schalke, the standard and expectations within the squad are so high that even a draw feels like a defeat. But Vincent Kompany is certainly far more interested in a strong start in the Champions League, having tried to rest his star players Harry Kane and Michael Olise. Both did come on in the second half against Schalke, but failed to provide the Bavarians with enough of a boost to secure victory.
